
The export of two of five decommissioned ROV’s led to Bro being interviewed extensively by the chaps in dark suits. The customs paperwork still listed the retired ROV’s as ‘weapons delivery systems’ with potential legal issues for trading without approval or licences in place.
We took on number #310 for fun promotional work. It’s own logbook showed its use on Hunt class minesweepers from 1983 possibly in the Falklands and then later off Kuwait after the first Gulf War.
We actually did a joint trip to the UK service company and randomly the suggestion of bidding for mine clearance contract work around the UK was proposed…. one crazy suggestion!
