Engine overhaul & rear quarter work

This is just one of the ongoing projects to recommission this 30 year old Toyota with 115k miles. The engine has just been put back together after replacing the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat. The timing has been checked, and coolant refilled. The old fuel has been drained and next step is to drain and prime the fuel supply.

Rear quarter bodywork that’s normally hidden under the plastic bumper. The last 2 bits of sheet metal are being prepped for welding. Self-tapping screws are being used to create a tight fit for a good weld. As the welds are hidden by the bumper they are not being ground flat for extra strength.
