Working with a 17 year old car plenty of WD40 is always helpful with crusty bolts! With Smarty the Yaris clearing another MoT it was time to start looking at some of the advisories including ‘slight leak from front of exhaust’. If this results in an additional boost in power there will be smiles all round. The new engine to manifold gasket can be seen here before being bolted up again.

At the other end of the exhaust manifold the ‘donut gasket’ was swapped out too for a new one. This was the most likely bit that needed replacing to solve the gas leak. There was no issue with re-aligning and tightening the exhaust components together again so all good here! On the road test all seems good :@)
